Get Your Garage Sale Permit

The City of Pataskala requires you to have a permit to host a garage sale in the City limits. The cost of this permit is $5.  There is a limit of two paid garage sales permits, per address, per calendar year. The city will hold two free garage sale weekends a year. This is where anyone can participate, even if the address has already applied for the paid two permits. During these weekends, no permit is needed.

 

2024 Free Garage Sale weekend dates:

May 17th, 18th and 19th

August 23rd, 24th and 25th

Important Information Regarding Garage Sales

  • A garage sale cannot last more than three (3) consecutive days or more than 72 consecutive hours
  • Signage
    • One (1) sign is permitted at the site of the garage sale
    • Two (2) off premise signs are permitted, but cannot be in the right-of-way and permission from the property owner is necessary to place a sign on private property
    • All signs must be removed within 12 hours after the closing of the garage sale
    • Signs cannot be attached to utility or street sign poles
    • Balloons, flags or streamers cannot be attached to garage sale signs
