Message from BJ King, City Administrator
In November I provided you with an update regarding the burial and removal of the overhead power lines and old lights on the Main Street Improvements project. At that time, I reported that the City and AEP were working together to come to a resolution on this project that would better serve Main Street residents. I am now happy to report that AEP and the City have come to an agreement that will significantly reduce the easement area required for many of the affected residents by allowing a large portion of the work to be located within the right-of-way.
We believe that with this agreement the primary concern has been addressed, as the impact to private property will be greatly reduced. In an effort to ensure that our understanding is correct, and to provide all affected residents with the current intention in accordance with the agreement, we have scheduled a public meeting to be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 6:00 PM. The meeting will be held in City Council Chambers at the City Administration Building, 621 W. Main St.
Your presence at this meeting would be greatly appreciated, as we hope that we can resolve any remaining issues. Accordingly, we will also have AEP representatives at the meeting who will provide updated easement documents to residents affected by the changes, and who will also be available to answer any questions you may have. With your cooperation we hope to get this project on track to get electrical service buried, and get the old poles out as soon as the weather permits.
If at any time you feel that the City of Pataskala’s representatives have not given proper attention to your property or have any questions regarding the project, please contact BJ King, City Administrator, at (740) 964-2416 or bjking@ci.pataskala .oh.us. Your cooperation and assistance is sincerely appreciated.
